1. Winkle’s view on your privacy
1.1 Personal data are data that identify you as an individual. Winkle respects the privacy of its respondents and shall ensure that the personal data provided to Winkle, is treated confidentially. Winkle will only use your personal data for the purpose of carrying out the survey. Winkle employees have the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of the information which they are aware, except insofar as any legal instruction obliges them to inform.
1.2 Respondents cooperation in a marketing research project is entirely voluntary at all stages. They should not be misled when their cooperation is requested. When Respondent has given Winkle permission to transfer his of her personal data, Winkle ensures that this information will not be used for any other purpose than that specific research project. Winkle takes all reasonable precautions to make sure that respondents in no way directly be harmed or adversely affected as a result of their participation in a market research project.
1.3 Winkle believes marketing research must be used objectively and in accordance with generally accepted scientific principles. Marketing research must always conform to the national and international laws applicable in those countries that are involved in a given research.
2. What happens to your personal data when you engage with Winkle as a respondent?
2.1 Winkle is a market research agency, its clients are businesses. Winkle collects and processes data from consumers and/or respondents and delivers this to its clients. With these data, clients can make informed decisions on marketing. As we are all online to some extend, Winkle uses online media extensively.
2.2 If you are filling in a survey through a research panel , Winkle will not receive your personal data, because contact details are shared in such a way that Winkle cannot link them with to a natural person. Thus the data are not personal data.
2.3 Some times Winkle does receive personal data from you or third parties. When you participate in our surveys or research communities, you do agree to the following:
2.3.2 When you agree to participating in one of Winkle’s online communities you unequivocally agree to Winkle using your personal information for its market research. As a respondent you will conduct yourself as can reasonably be expected, i.e. you will refrain from abusive language, keep keys or passwords to yourself, and will report misuse of data immediately to Winkle. Respondent will hold Winkle harmless against all damages, direct or consequential.
2.3.3 Winkle also uses the information it collects from you (including usage data, device data, referral data and information from page tags) to manage and improve it’s services.
2.3.4 Winkle does not sell your personal data to third parties and we do not use any contact details collected in our customers’ surveys to contact survey respondents.
2.3.5 On clients request, Winkle could deliver results of individual respondents, however Winkle makes sure that any personal details that may be presented are deleted.
2.3.6 By participating in a research community, you agree that clients of Winkle can observe the discussions in the community. You must choose a ‘Nickname’ and can opt to choose a ‘Profile Picture’ for you community account. When answers and comments are submitted by you as a respondent, ‘Nicknames’ and ‘Profile Pictures’ will show up. You are responsible to choose a ‘Nickname’ and Profile Picture’ that will not reflect your identity.
2.3.7 Sensitive information/ If sensitive information is being discussed in a survey or community, this will be clearly explained before you start. You have the option to decline to answer any question . By answering the question, you unequivocally agree to Winkle using this information.
